How Sublimation Printing Works on Webbing
Full-colour printing makes sense when material, design and finishing process are planned together.

How sublimation printing works
In sublimation printing, the dye under the influence of temperature goes to the structure of the appropriate material. The technology works well with polyester substrates and allows to obtain multi-colour motifs, fine tonal transitions and repetitive printing on textile webbing.
The result depends on the whiteness and smoothness of the substrate, color profile, temperature, time and pressure. Not everyone ready textile webbing is the right medium, so the material should be selected before preparing the final graphics.
Sublimation printing or jacquard weaving
Sublimation is usually chosen for full color, gradients, and illustrations. Jacquard textile gives a pattern woven from thread, clear structure and premium character. The choice should result from brand language, required visual durability, budget and usage.
In lanyard advertising printing can be one-sided or two-sided depending on the design. It is also necessary to specify accessories, snap hook, safety release, length and packaging of the finished product.
Preparation of the file
The graphics should take into account the width of textile webbing, droppings, cutting place and report. The text should be set with a safe margin so that the production shift does not impede reading. For critical color it is worth providing a physical sample and agreeing a method of evaluation.
- File on scale and with specified report
- Fall outside the edge of the visible field
- Logo and text removed from the shore and sewing site
- Indication of the direction and order of the motifs
- Test printout approved before the series
Durability and control
The printing must be assessed on the right material and after the intended finishing process. If the product is washed, exposed to friction or used outside, the range of tests should reflect these conditions.
Please specify the width, number of meters or pieces, number of pages of printing, accessories, packaging method and date. For large series it is worth approving a reference sample and rules of color control.
Frequently asked questions
Does sublimation work on any textile webbing?
No. A substrate adapted for the process is needed, usually suitable polyester material. Selection of textile webbing should be confirmed before printing.
Can you print gradients and photos?
The technology allows a wide range of colours and tonal transitions, but readability depends on the width of textile webbing, resolution and file preparation.
Will the colors on the screen be identical?
The screen is lit and textile webbing reflects light, so the effect may vary. Critical colors should be approved on a physical sample.
